Retro Fish
The Retro Fish is a scaled up version of the Shorty Fish, and inherits much of the same characteristics. It will give the heavier rider a little more volume to help with paddling and wave-catching ability, but is suitable for all riders looking for a little bit of extra board for step-up waves, making it a great all-round board for surfers at all stages of their surfing journey wanting to explore the flow of the fish. With a flatter rocker and wide profile, this is a fast board that is very manoeuvrable.
Customisations
As this is a custom order, there is the opportunity for a number of customisations which will be discussed with you once you have placed your order. These include the choice of wood and other finishing features, volume and shape.
Who will make my surfboard?
Your board will be made by Patrick Burnett, who has 15 years of experience in making wooden surfboards. Pat makes his boards under the “one pair of hands” principle. He selects the wood, cuts and prepares it, designs the final shape, builds the wooden structure, shapes it, and finally attends to the glassing and finishing. Being intimately involved with every stage of the process gives him a great deal of control over required customisations and the quality of the final surfboard.
Dimensions
Typically 6′ x 21″ x 3″, but as this surfboard is ordered as a custom-made item dimensions shown are a guide and can be adjusted according to the requirements of whoever it is being made for.
Volume Range
As above, this is a custom-made item and the volume will be adjusted according to the unique specifications of whoever it is being made for. The volume usually varies between 30 and 45 litres.
Fin Setup
The original fish shape comes with a twin-keel fin setup. These can be done as glass-on fins or as boxes.
